West Coast Railways say the installation of new technology on its heritage carriages would cost
£7 million, a price that would cost them ten years of lost profit

The steam train's operators says that the regulations were intended for busy commuter services and not heritage, passenger-limited services.
The current system is safe.

Not only would the end of the Jacobite Steam Train be devastating to Potterheads,
it will also "decimate" Mallaig's tourist industry that comes with it
