All right, let’s dive in!
Chocolatiers in Seattle

A chocolatier is someone who works “artisanally with ready-made chocolate mass” and makes chocolate treats like ganache, truffles, chocolate dipped confections and the sorts.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate
At Rocky Mountain Chocolate you’ll find an array of chocolate flavors like chocolate covered berries, nuts, and ganaches.
Inside are tables where you can have a sit and enjoy your chocolate treats.
Conveniently located next to Pike Place Market, it’s a good place to relax and treat yourself.
Chocolati
Visit a chocolate cafe in the Seattle neighborhoods of Greenlake, Greenwood, and Wallingford. Have a seat in a Chocolati and enjoy a chocolate-y good time!
You can find chocolate-covered fortune cookies, chocolate truffle slims, or exciting chocolate covered foods like ginger or figs. Amongst the endless flavors of truffles, they serve adult-friendly varieties like Grand Marnier, Champagne, or Kahlua.
Order a cup of one of their house hot chocolates, perfect for those chilly Seattle days.
If you don’t want to stay, take these chocolate goods to-go.
Fran’s Chocolates
Stepping into Fran’s Chocolates feels like entering a chocolate jewelry store, with each truffle treated like a precious gem under protective glass.
You’ll be lured in by their luxurious peanut butter cups, “gold” bars, and chocolate citrus sticks.
Fancy yourself a baker? Grab one of their baking chocolate bars and up the quality of your next homemade dessert.
Fran’s has three locations conveniently positioned in Downtown, Georgetown, and University Village.

Chocolat Vitale
Chocolat Vitale’s rich drinking chocolate is a sinfully rich European hot chocolate made with divine Swiss and Belgian chocolates.
This chocolate haven doubles as a boutique Italian grocery pantry, a marketplace for craft chocolates from around the globe, and โ wait for it โ a vintage vinyl record store.
Yep, you heard that right. While you’re losing yourself in the creamy depths of the perfect cup of hot chocolate, you could be jamming to some vinyl records.
Intrigue Chocolate Company
Intrigue Chocolate Company has flavors in their chocolates that are…intriguing๐.
This gem located in the historic downtown neighborhood of Pioneer Square and has been pushing the boundaries of conventional chocolate-making, crafting over 400 unique ganache truffle flavors since their opening almost 20 years ago. Think Smoked Black Tea or Basil, and Pomegranate & Ginger.
The creativity doesn’t stop there.
Intrigue offers beautifully designed chocolate bars with exotic blends such as juniper berry/black lime or hops/clover honey.
And for those who fancy the idea of a DIY experience, their chocolate tasting kit allows you to become the connoisseur right from the comfort of your own home.
Chocolate Makers in Seattle

A chocolate maker is a “person that accompanies the entire process, from the planting of cocoa to the manufacture of chocolate bars”, or in layman’s terms, makes the chocolate from scratch.
Seattle Chocolate
With ethically-sourced chocolate and meticulously selected ingredients, the Seattle Chocolate stands out for their bite-sized truffles wrapped in vibrant, shiny-colored wrappers. Some stand out flavors include pink bubbly, birthday cake batter, and blackberry creme.
They’ve also mastered the truffle bar: a solid chocolate shell housing a creamy, flavor-packed center It’s a truffle in chocolate bar form.
To learn about their factory tours, see below.
Theo Chocolate
Theo Chocolate’s is known for their organic and fair-trade sourced cocoa beans. Their flagship store is nestled in the heart of Fremont, but their indulgent chocolate bars grace the shelves of numerous grocery stores around Washington state.
While they’re famed for their peanut butter cups, which are like a gourmet twist on Reese’s, their almond butter cup is my favorite.
If you’re a ‘Mounds’ fan, their Coconut Bites are a must-try.
And for the home bakers out there, their top-tier baking chocolate is bound to elevate your sweet creations.
Sometimes they collaborate with Aslan Brewing to host a beer and chocolate pairing class.
Check out their chocolate making classes below.

Spinnaker Chocolate
Located in North Seattle, Spinnaker Chocolate stands out in Seattle’s confectionery landscape. They’ve taken the road less traveled by roasting cacao nibs instead of whole beans, and ingeniously removing less well-fermented cacao beans. Their ingenuity even extends to building their own equipment to ensure the highest quality beans make it into their chocolate.
The result? Quality chocolate with more chocoate-y flavors.
One of their most unique items is their ‘dark milk’ chocolate. You’ve heard of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Put them together and you get a semi-sweet, creamy ‘dark milk’ chocolate.
For those with lactose intolerance, they’ve got you covered with an equally scrumptious oat milk chocolate bar.
And for every bar sold, they donate towards cleaning up the ocean.
But their innovation doesn’t stop at chocolate bars. They also offer a cacao tea that can be steeped in water for a chocolaty herbal tea experience.
indi Chocolate
At indi Chocolate, they’re doing things a bit differently. Nestled in the new Pike Place Marketfront, indi takes the ‘bean-to-bar’ concept to the next level by sourcing cacao beans directly from farmers and cooperatives.
This approach ensures a superbly fresh and flavorful small-batch, single-origin chocolate that is as distinctive as it is delicious.
Their cafรฉ serves specialty coffee drinks like a mole caramel latte or a sipping chocolate, both made with their in-house, single-origin chocolate.
It’s not just about the drinks though; they also offer artistically-designed single-origin bars, a unique and tantalizing chocolate tea, and fresh-roasted cacao beans straight from the bag.

Enthusiasts come together in one place, united by their love for chocolate and the extraordinary flavors they create. Get ready to embark on a tantalizing journey through a myriad of chocolates, each with its own distinct profile.
The festival also offers a variety of workshops to attend throughout the weekend. Past classes have been: Hot Fudge Sundae School, Building Community with Cacoa in Costa Rica, and Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Chocolate: But Were Too Afraid to Ask.

๐ฒ Washington Travel Planning Guide ๐ฒ
๐จย Should I buy Washington travel insurance?

ย ๐ย Is it safe to rent a car in Washington?
YESย โย Itโs totally safe to drive in Washington. And unless you are planning to just stay in Seattle, renting a carย is pretty much a necessity! Beware of tolls whether crossing bridges or driving in HOV lanes. I recommend Discover Cars as they have some of the best prices around.

YESย โ All major cell providers work in Washington. However, be prepared for some dead spots in the more remote parts like in the middle of the cascades.
๐๏ธย Whatโs the best way to book my Washington accommodations?
For Washington hotels,ย Booking.comย is amazing because you can often reserve your room with no money down. If you are looking at Airbnbs for a more home-like stay, donโt forget to checkย VRBOย for potentially better prices and options.

I recommend looking atย Skyscannerย for finding cheap flights.ย Pro Tip: check if flying into Everett is cheaper than flying into Seattle.
๐ย Do I need a passport to visit Washington?
