More About Me and My Travels
I have been helping people with travel since I was 3 years old, accurately directing adults back to my house from church
Growing up, my family often took some sort of major trip every year, whether to Disneyland in California or Yellowstone or Hawaii. So you could say that wanderlust has always been engrained in me.
I fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a travel agent and did that for 4 years, helping clients with memorable trips like: a men’s weekend getaway to a luxurious mountainous resort, a personalized mother/daughter Anne of Green Gables themed PEI itinerary, or a friends group 2 week privately guided tour of Portugal.
When I first started traveling on my own, I had to learn how to get creative in the art of budget travel. I meticulously crafted itineraries that maximized experiences with minimal costs.
Today, while I thankfully don’t have to be a penny-pinching miser when I travel, I am always hunting for the best bang for my buck. Value is everything to me! (just see how snarky I am about the value I found at this attraction!)
People always ask how I find the cool spots that I do. I’d like to say I’ve got a sixth sense for sniffing out the coolest, most offbeat experiences.
But it really comes down to me having this thing against following the crowd and being herded around like cattle. I’ve embraced a philosophy of independent research and exploration, digging into the nooks and crannies of the places I visit.
I have lived in the lands of fire and ice: growing up in Alaska and taking a year sabbatical to live on the Big Island Hawaii. I have currently resided in the neutral land of the PNW in Washington State for that past 10 years (minus my sabbatical).
I frequently embark on day trips that offer as much adventure as a two-week European vacation. During these journeys, I have discovered hidden gems that even locals are unaware of, allowing me to share unique experiences even close to home.
Europe is my favorite international place to visit, Scotland and England being very near and dear to my heart. I’ve seen Costa Rica, Cancun, and driven the Alcan Highway in Canada 3 times!
I have watched the ball drop on New Year in Times Square, attended a West End play with Michael J Fox, and made headlines in a San Diego newspaper for winning a state fair animal impersonation contest.
As I share my culmination of expertise, allow me to empower you to compose unforgettable journeys, individually tailored to your own unique tastes and preferences.
